Winthrop Rockefeller Institute to host John Kirk on Aug. 13
The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute atop Petit Jean Mountain will host Dr. John Kirk, George W. Donaghey Distinguished Professor of History at UA Little Rock, on August 13.
Dr. Kirk’s book, “Winthrop Rockefeller: From New Yorker to Arkansawyer, 1912-1956,” was published in March 2022 by the University of Arkansas Press after 12 years of research on the former Arkansas governor’s life and career.
Dr. Kirk will discuss his research with Rex Nelson, historian and journalist, and Janet Harris, Winthrop Rockefeller Institute executive director and CEO. The event will also include lunch and a signed hardback copy of Dr. Kirk’s book.
The event schedule includes:
- Check-in and book pick up, 8:30 – 9 a.m.
- Conversations and discussions, 9 a.m. – Noon
- Lunch, Noon – 1 p.m.
