In light of the popularity of the best-selling book and film, “The Help,” UALR’s Institute on Race and Ethnicity and Pyramid Art, Books, and Custom Framing are co-sponsoring a community discussion, “The Help: Black and White Women’s Relationships: Past, Present, and Future,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Pyramid at 1001 Wright Ave., Suite C.

The event is free and open to the public.

Adjoa A. Aiyetoro, director of the UALR institute, will facilitate a conversation with readers of the book and viewers of the film about their thoughts on the complex relationships presented through the book and film, and discuss the historical evolution of the black/white female relationship.

Copies of “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett will be available for purchase.
