UA Little Rock Extends Half Off Tuition and Fees Initiative
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is extending its student success initiative that offers half-off course tuition and fees for freshmen who enroll at UA Little Rock for the fall 2023 semester.
The student success effort allows freshmen with 11 or fewer transfer credit hours to receive up to 50 percent off tuition and fees for not only their freshmen year for the 2023-24 academic year but their 2024-25 sophomore year as well.
“UA Little Rock remains committed to making the college experience affordable and attainable for all,” said Dr. Christina Drale, chancellor of UA Little Rock. “Continuing this scholarship initiative is one of several significant steps the university is taking to both expand opportunity and improve student success.”
The initiative, which was announced last fall, provided additional access for students in the state, while also raising awareness for the world-class educational opportunities provided at the state’s only metropolitan university. Located in the heart of the capital city, UA Little Rock is steps away from the state’s best career, cultural, and entertainment opportunities.
“We continue working to make sure prospective students and their families are aware of all the opportunities available at UA Little Rock,” said Dr. Cody Decker, vice chancellor of student affairs and chief data officer. “The Fifty-Fresh Scholarship that offers half-off tuition for eligible students supports our mission of providing a quality and affordable education for Arkansans.”
The scholarship is valued at up to $10,000 over two years and was made possible by the generosity of an anonymous donor who gave the university $25 million dollars in 2020.
All freshmen who are unconditionally admitted to UA Little Rock and enroll in at least 12 credit hours for the fall 2023 semester are eligible for the scholarship. No additional application is needed for students to receive the scholarship. Students who earn a 2.25 GPA or higher during the fall 2023 semester may renew the scholarship for the spring semester.
Recipients of the scholarship also participate in student success initiatives recommended by their academic advisor. The topics include academic success, financial literacy, and life skills.
