Graduate Cassie Gehring is ending the spring semester on several high notes. Not only is she the first person in her family to earn a graduate degree, but Gehring has recently been promoted and is writing a grant proposal that could help single parents at UA Little Rock afford childcare. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has received a $40,000 donation to create a student support fund in honor of Dr. Moira Maguire, a history professor who worked at UA Little Rock for 15 years and had a reputation of going above and beyond to help students succeed. 

Audra McAnally has been out of school for less than three years, but the 25-year old entrepreneur has already opened her second business – a stylish throwback to the popular era of vinyl stores called Retro Rose. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has created a special fund for graduating students who need assistance to purchase a cap and gown. 

Drs. Stanley and Jessica Ellis, both 2011 graduates of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, share a love of life, education, and mentoring that they are now sharing with the world through their first book, “Winning is Planned: A Guide for Young Men Who Plan Their Greatness.” 

Friends and supporters of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock came together for the university’s 2021 Giving Day that raised almost $168,000 for scholarships, student-athletes, diversity and inclusion initiatives, UA Little Rock Public Radio, emergency support for students affected by COVID-19, and more. 

In celebration of Women’s History Month, UA Little Rock is profiling women in leadership positions who are making a difference at UA Little Rock and in the community. The next Woman to Watch at UA Little Rock of 2021 is Kristi Smith, senior director of alumni and development. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will hold Giving Day 2021 on Thursday, March 18, to encourage friends of the university, employees, alumni, and students to come together to make a difference at UA Little Rock. 

Jerry and Sherri Damerow, longtime supporters of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Arkansas, have made a planned gift of $1 million to support scholarships for science majors at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has announced four new members who will serve three-year terms on the UA Little Rock Foundation Fund Board of Directors.
