UALR is throwing a birthday party for Trojan women sports pioneer and 2010 Alumni Association Presidents Award winner Betty Jo Stephens at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. The party will be held before home game between the Trojans, the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Champion, and the Missouri State Lady Bears at Jack Stephens Center.

The fourth annual SpectacUALR established a new record for giving by generating more than $200,000 in support of Trojan student-athletes. The fundraiser was the university’s largest recurring fundraiser.

UALR’s soccer team began its first official day of practice Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the newly opened Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex, located behind University Village residence hall near the intersection of University and Asher Avenues.

Jack Kinnaman, a 2004 inductee into the UALR Athletics Hall of Fame and one of UALR’s most substantial supporters over the past quarter century, will be the honoree at the Department of Athletics’ fourth annual SpectacUALR on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Jack Stephens Center.
Former UALR runner Leah Thorvilson will compete in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon on Jan. 14 in Houston.
