More than 600 people turned out for the fourth annual SpectacUALR, which established a new record for giving. More than $200,000 was raised in support of Trojan student-athletes.

Happy Anthony Mahfouz, former UALR basketball coach and athletic director who shepherded the Trojans into the NCAA, has died in Alexandria, La. He was 80.

Tickets are going fast for UALR’s SpectacUALR, the university’s annual fundraising celebration of Trojan athletics. The gala is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in the Jack Stephens Center.
