Donaghey Scholars Program

Those who caught this year’s MTV Video Music Awards — or, more specifically, who were plugged into its social media feeds — just might have recognized the work of a talented local artist.

UALR Donaghey Scholar Emily Phillips won the J. Mulkey Kent award and first place in the open division in the Arkansas State Old Time Fiddle Championship Sept. 19-20 at Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View.

A senior Donaghey Scholar majoring in anthropology was named a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.
