Hispanic Heritage Month honored through special events

The UALR Office of Campus Life in conjunction with the Hispanic/Latino Initiative is hosting several activities in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month through Oct. 15. Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South Hispanic Heritage Month honored through special events

Chancellor’s Leadership Corps launches annual food drive

The UALR Chancellor’s Leadership Corps (CLC) launched its annual Reach 13,000 food drive on Sept. 15 to support the Arkansas Food Bank. The goal of the drive is to provide 13,000 families with nonperishable food.

American Chemical Society recognizes UALR chapter

UALR’s chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS), which has been recognized nationally by the ACS and received numerous commendations, was recently recognized by the Central Arkansas Local Section of the ACS in its September newsletter for “taking initiative in continuing growth and notability around the campus.”

Green named State Star by Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) named Gwen Green, Communications Coordinator for UALR’s Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC), the State Star for Arkansas at its 34th Annual Conference on Sept. 9 in Grapevine, Texas.
