Ottenheimer Library

It’s the end of the semester at UALR, which for most students usually translates into late nights and long hours studying for finals.

The UALR Ottenheimer Library, Information Technology Services Computer Lab, and Donaghey Student Center will be open until 2 a.m. weeknights during finals week, set to begin Monday, Dec. 9.

The Ottenheimer Brothers Foundation recently provided a $70,000 gift for exterior improvements to the west and south entrances of UALR’s Ottenheimer Library.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will be celebrating in style this week for several Halloween-themed events.

J.B. Hill has been appointed interim dean of the Ottenheimer Library at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. His appointment was effective Aug. 16.

UALR Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Zulma Toro-Ramos recently announced that Wanda Dole, dean of the UALR Ottenheimer Library, will retire July 1.

UALR students asked for a more modern Ottenheimer Library and they received, gaining several new enhancements such as interactive media tables to improve group learning experiences.

On Thursday, April 4, the Ottenheimer Library will hold a celebration of the building’s progress and improvements since its 1976 opening. Sponsored by the Library Development Board, the 1970s-themed evening will feature music from that decade as well as a photo exhibit of the library.

The Ottenheimer Library’s hours have been adjusted for the interim between semesters, through the end of May.

Recently vacated space on the second floor of the Ottenheimer Library is destined to become student space, but what kind of space will it become? Library officials want students themselves to say what they want.
