The U.S. Government Printing Office has recognized Ottenheimer Library and Librarian Karen Russ for “their excellence in promotion, education, and service to the public” in the January issue of FDLP Desktop.

Patrons checking out materials via Ottenheimer Library’s new automated check-out station between now and noon Friday, April 29, are eligible to win several prizes, including a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card, a portable DVD player, and a $10 library copy card.

UALR’S Ottenheimer Library launched a new mobile website this semester to provide the campus community with improved access to the library’s electronic resources through smart phones and other mobile devices.

Starting this month, students, faculty, and staff can access Ottenheimer Library’s database, e-books, and e-journals by using their campus NetID.

The Ottenheimer Library has installed four new stainless steel book drops around campus to provide students and faculty with more convenient drop off locations for library materials.

Wanda Dole, dean of the Ottenheimer Library, attended the International Federation of Library Associations World Library and Information Congress in Gothenberg, Sweden.

Beginning Aug. 9, patrons of the Ottenheimer Library may skirt traffic at the circulation desk when checking out. The library is installing a 3M automated checkout machine to speed check-out at the desk.

UALR has received a gift of $250,000 from the Ottenheimer Brothers Foundation for exterior improvements at the University’s main library named for the family.
