The Arkansas Journal of Social Change and Public Service will host its inaugural symposium event, “Food for Thought: A Symposium Devoted to Food, Policy, and Community in Arkansas,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Friday Courtroom at the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law.
UALR has achieved Bronze Status in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Reporting System (STARS), an initiative of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

Janet Lanza, a professor in the UALR Department of Biology, has received the Distinguished Service Citation from the Ecological Society of America. She has served the society for two decades as Book Review Editor of its flagship journal, Ecology.
