Mike Shepherd, director of administrative services in the Purchasing Office, celebrated UALR’s Sustainability Day earlier this semester by offering 20 campus clients a free package of 100 percent recycled copy paper.

For the second year, UALR will host a Green Jobs Fair from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, to celebrate Campus Sustainability Day. The event is sponsored by the College of Business, Net Impact, and the UALR Sustainability Committee.

The campus celebrates “green’’ on  Wednesday, Oct. 21, with activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Donaghey Student Center’s Ledbetter Hall Rooms A, B, and C, sponsored by the UALR Committee on Sustainability.

Dr. Nancy E. Landrum, professor of management in UALR’s College of Business, will discuss “green” business practices at the Little Rock Sustainability Summit from 10 to 10:50 a.m.  Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Statehouse Convention Center.

Big, white collection bins popping up around campus since July 1 are signs that a new hauler is in town, collecting under the State Mixed Paper Recycling program. Allied Waste won the state contract beginning July.
