The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is celebrating significant enrollment growth for the spring 2025 semester, with the university reporting its largest percentage increase for a spring term in university history.

Official enrollment figures reveal a substantial rise in both undergraduate and graduate student numbers. Undergraduate enrollment increased by seven percent, adding 317 students, while student semester credit hours (SSCH) saw a 10 percent boost with an additional 5,351 credit hours. When combining undergraduate and graduate figures, total enrollment rose by four percent, adding 274 more students, and total SSCH increased by eight percent, amounting to 4,913 additional credit hours.

“This historic growth is not just about numbers. It represents more students choosing UA Little Rock as the place to pursue their dreams, build their futures, and become part of our vibrant community,” Chancellor Christina S. Drale said. “It’s a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and enrollment teams who go above and beyond to support students every day. Their efforts ensure that every student feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.”

This enrollment growth builds upon the success of the fall 2024 semester, where UA Little Rock experienced its largest enrollment growth in 15 years, driven by substantial increases of 28.9 percent in first-time freshmen and 18.2 percent for undergraduate transfer students. The trend continued during the spring 2025 semester, which saw a 38 percent increase in first-time freshmen and 22 percent increase in transfer students from the spring 2024 semester.

“This record-breaking enrollment growth reflects UA Little Rock’s unwavering commitment to student success and the dedication of our faculty and staff,” said Dr. Cody Decker, vice chancellor for student affairs and chief data officer. “More students—and their families—are recognizing the tremendous value of a UA Little Rock education, not only in the classroom but also in the opportunities that come with learning, living, and launching their careers in Little Rock.”

A special recognition was given to the Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, and Institutional Research teams for their strategic vision, innovative outreach, and data-driven approach to recruitment. Their efforts, alongside the hard work of faculty and staff, have played a pivotal role in this accomplishment.

UA Little Rock remains committed to providing an exceptional educational experience, ensuring that every student who walks through its doors has the opportunity to succeed. One major draw for students is UA Little Rock’s strong scholarship programs, including Trojan Guarantee, which covers the full cost of a bachelor’s degree for eligible freshmen, and the popular half-off tuition scholarship.
