UA Little Rock to Reveal Faculty Excellence Award Winners April 23

PAYROLL

The Payroll Department Has Good News!

In response to campus changes resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Payroll is excited to announce the implementation of a one-stop link on our website. You are now able to message the Payroll department or submit forms using the Submit Documents or Contact Us form, except for Direct Deposit Authorization forms. Direct Deposit Authorization forms must be submitted in person. Should you need personal assistance with this process, Payroll staff will be on-site each Tuesday from 10 a,m, to 2 p.m. but will be promoting strict social distancing. Please bring a photo ID. Email support is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The implementation of this form will add an extra layer of safety and security for submitting documents.

The advantages of using the online form are that you will receive an email receipt of your message, multiple people monitor messages daily, increased response time, and avoiding person-to-person contact during the COVID-19 health crisis. It will also help us direct your message to the appropriate person in our office.

We strongly encourage you to bookmark the Submit Documents or Contact Us form for your ease and convenience in messaging us or submitting documents.

Thank you for your assistance as we implement safety measures and streamline our processes to provide better service to the campus community.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Especially during these unprecedented times, employees may benefit from the Employee Assistance Program. UA Little Rock provides this benefit through UAMS.

Samara “Sam” Duckworth is the Program Director of the Arkansas Employee Assistance Program, and she has provided the following update.

“Our offices are open for in-person sessions and all staff, clients and visitors are being screened per UAMS policy. We are providing referrals for any persons with symptoms to UAMS or other health care provider. Additionally, our offices are being cleaned as per the CDC and ADH recommendations.

I have attached a flyer that may be helpful to your employees regarding dealing with fears concerning health care.

On a positive note, we have been providing video counseling for 2 years now and have recently upgraded our system so that we are even easier to access by video.

Our new platform is secure and private and allows for employees to request sessions on-line for telephone, video or in-person sessions. It also has a feature where they can receive text and/or email reminders of their appointments. They can message their counselor directly on the secure platform. We want the EAP to be easy to use. For information regarding video counseling please visit https://eap.uams.edu/video-counseling-is-now-available/.

I am attaching a flyer announcing our new portal. You can take a look by going to eap-elink.uams.edu or you may go to my directory listing with the link below.

Please feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns.”

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Telemedicine Now Available through Health Services

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Health Services is excited to announce that they are now offering telemed services via telephone and a HIPAA-compliant video app. Having a virtual visit from the comfort of your home is the best way to keep you safe while still meeting your healthcare needs. The process is simple and very easy to set up with a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

The office of Health Services is still open, but they are conducting telephone triage before any in-clinic appointments are scheduled. The office is not accepting walk-ins or seeing patients with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath.

Please call 501-569-3188 if you have any questions or to schedule a telemed visit.
