The State Director, in consultation with the Immediate-Past State Director and the Regional Directors, will assign teams to the regional tournaments. The State Director has final say in the assignment of schools to the regional tournaments but will attempt to assign schools using the following procedure.
- The number of teams will be balanced between the regional tournaments.
- Teams that are in the immediate geographical area of a regional will be assigned to that regional tournament.
- Teams more centrally located in the state will alternate between regional tournaments every year.
