    Dr. John Czarnecki is a groundwater specialist with the U.S. Geological Survey Arkansas Water Science Center. In this lecture, Dr. Czarnecki explains the importance of the Alluvial and Sparta Aquifers in Arkansas and what we need to do to protect these water supplies.     Dr. Rebecca Bendick is an Associate Professor at the University of Montana where her research focuses on the mechanisms that produce the continental landscape. In this lecture, Dr. Bendick shows how her latest research brings into question some of the theories of how the continents move.    

    Dr. Jason Patton is an Associate Professor of Geology at Arkansas Tech University.  He has more than 20 years experience working on environmental projects for government and industry.  Most of his research has focused on the sedimentation in drinking water.     Melinda Glasgow  is the Sustainability Officer for Little Rock.  She coordinates the information about recycling in Little Rock and was instrumental in initiating the single stream recycling program. In this lecture, Ms. Glasgow explains the role of the Sustainability Commission and the future plans to develop sustainable practices.

    Dr.  Jessica Scott  holds a Ph.D in Environmental Dynamics from the University of Arkansas.  Her research focuses on paleoecology, where she reconstructs the diet and habitat of fossil species.  Dr. Scott is the Asst.     Dr.  Lindsey Waddell received her Ph.D in Oceanography, Marine Geology and Geochemistry from the University of Michigan.  She teaches at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts. In this lecture, Dr. Waddell explores the unique geologic conditions at the Hot Springs National  Park that create the thermal springs.  

    Dr.  Thomas Colby received his Ph.D in Geosciences from Boise State University.  He is a visiting professor at UA Little Rock in the Department of Earth Sciences.  Dr. Colby’s research interests focus on using a variety of techniques to investigate and understand the timing, structure, and evolution of collisional mountain building events.
