Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost

ZulmaToroDr. Zulma Toro is the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs and Provost at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

As Provost, Dr. Toro is responsible for overseeing over 500 full-time faculty members and approximately 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students. She also helps establish relationships with industry, government, and alumni for the university.

Prior to coming to UALR, Dr. Toro served as the Dean of the College of Engineering at Wichita State, Kansas from 2005-2013 and the Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of New Haven, Conn., from 2001 to 2005. She was also Chancellor of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez from 1999 to 2001.

Dr. Toro earned a Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1988, a master’s degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan in 1983, and an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from the University of Puerto Rico in 1982.
