Robert StebbinsLittle Rock born and raised, Robert Stebbins is still happy to call the place home. “I absolutely love it, it’s a great size. […] We have a great cost of living and a great quality of life,” he said.

Stebbins, currently the Director of Sales for the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery initially had the task of building a sales and marketing force from the ground-up. His road to success began early on, after he graduated from McClellan High School, where he was president of his senior class.

“It’s a blessing and a curse,” he explained, “because you’re forever called on to plan class reunions.”

For college, an eager Stebbins made his trek to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he originally planned to study psychology.

“I was a typical college student,” he said. “I remember my first statistics class, and I thought, ok, bad major choice.”

He moved back to Little Rock to attend UALR and at the same time worked as a waiter at Andre’s when the restaurant was located in West Little Rock.

The people person that he was, he decided to enroll into the communications program at UALR, with the thought that he might also get a minor in business and marketing while he was at it. To Stebbins, this combination more clearly fit his ultimate career goals.

UALR was the perfect fit for him. He was able to get a grade-A education, and he remembers the professors taking a genuine interest in their students.
