Minor in Ethnic Studies
The ethnic studies minor is an 18 hour interdisciplinary course of study. Its focus is on pluralism, assimilation and ethnic diver sity in the United States. The ethnic studies minor is designed for students whose career options involve working with ethnic groups, and is especially appealing for international studies and the humanities.
A minor in ethnic studies requires 18 credit hours including SOCI 3330 and a three-hour capstone senior-level independent study which can be taken with any department provided the subject matter is related to ethnic studies. Students must also complete 12 credit hours chosen from the following courses: SOCI 3312 , 3316, HIST 3375, 4368, 4369, ENGL 3326, or MUSI 3361. Contact Dr. David Briscoe (569-3197) or the department Chair for more information.
