Bachelor of Arts in Interpretation: ASL/English

Admission Requirements

Students seeking admission to the Interpreter Education Program may submit a declaration of major on BOSS. Students who want to be admitted to either Interpreting degree program, must meet the following requirements:

  • A.S. Degree program
    • Submit a declaration of major on BOSS
  • B.A. Degree program requires
    • Completion of ASL II with a “B” or better

New students and transfer students may apply online at http://www.ualr.edu/recruitment/. In addition to sending official transcripts to the university, transfer students should send unofficial transcripts to the Interpreter Education Program Coordinator to determine course equivalents and placement within the program curriculum.

Students enrolling at UALR with some knowledge of ASL may be eligible to take the ASL Placement Test.
