Dr. Jennifer K. Holtz joined UALR in 2012 as an Assistant Professor of Adult Education and Program Coordinator for the Master’s Degree in Adult Education. She teaches a variety of courses including Foundations of Adult Education, Psychology of Adult Learning, Program Planning in Adult Education, Internship in Adult Education, Organization and Administration of Adult Education, Methods and Materials in Adult Education, Teaching Adults, and several seminar courses.

Dr. Holtz holds a Ph.D. in Adult, Continuing and Occupational Education with an emphasis in Medical Education from Kansas State University, master’s degree in Gerontology from Wichita State University, and bachelor’s degree in Biology, emphasis human biology, from Newman University. Her memberships include the Adult Higher Education Alliance, American Association of Adult and Continuing Education, American Educational Research Association and Generalists in Medical Education. Dr. Holtz serves as a Member-at-Large for the Commission of Professors of Adult Education.

Dr. Holtz’s research focuses on facilitation of online teaching and learning, with emphasis on experiential learning and the role of problem finding behaviors in successful science and research learning. She has presented and published nationally and internationally, and is currently working on a follow-up book to Online Science Learning: Best Practices and Technologies (2008, IGI Global), which she coauthored with Dr. Kevin Downing.
