The basic elements of the university identity – UALR’s name, athletic team names, signature, logo, and seal – are protected legally from unauthorized use. While this prevents use without permission, it also requires consistent use and appearance by authorized UALR representatives.
The UALR signature consists of the words “University of Arkansas at Little Rock” set in Myriad Pro regular typeface. In limited instances, the signature can stand alone, but it is preferable to use the signature as part of the logo in all printed materials.
The UALR wordmark is the graphic representation for the university using the letters “UALR” in a specific font, with an arc moving through the letters. The logo includes the wordmark and signature. The logo cannot be set in type; it is a graphic element.

Visual communication include stationery (letterhead, envelopes, business cards, notepads, fax cover sheets, etc.), publications (brochures, invitations, booklets, etc), websites, signage, promotional items, and electronic message boards.
The logo can be reproduced in several variations of the UALR maroon, silver, and black. The two-color option is preferred but may not be feasible with all media.
Each of UALR’s colleges, schools, and departments will have a customized logo that can be used in place of the standard university logo. Versions to include the university name may be created to be sent to external audiences.
Cooperative Program Logos
University programs affiliated with private or nonprofit organizations usually require signatures or logos that display the partnering organization’s identity in tandem with the UALR identity. UALR Children International is one example.
Use of the seal is limited to documents or items of a formal nature, such as on diplomas, certificates, special stationery, awards, legal documents.
The Trojan logo is officially licensed and registered to UALR. It may be appropriate to be used as an art element in print materials or on promotional items. When re-sizing the Trojan logo, it is imperative to keep the original proportions intact. The default logo color is black, but it can be changed to maroon or silver. When placing the logo on a background color other than white (silver, maroon, etc.), the area inside the Trojan logo should be changed to match the new background color.
