Scholar Wins Huayu Scholarship to Study in Taiwan

Second-year Scholar Emily Dobson has been awarded the Huayu Scholarship from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan). This scholarship provides funds for students to study Mandarin Chinese at various language centers in Taiwan. Dobson has been awarded funding for six months, from March 1 – August 31, 2014, adding up to a total award of over $5,000. While in Taiwan, Dobson will take intensive language courses at National Taiwan Normal University’s Mandarin Training Center in Taipei and explore aspects of Taiwanese culture.
