Gradfest gives glee to upcoming students

Some seniors will finally see the light at the end of the tunnel on Oct.13 and 14, as Fall Gradfest kicks off outside the bookstore in the Donaghey Student Center from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Yes, the time has come to place your order for an oh-so-fashionable cap and gown and to figure out everything else you need to do to receive the coveted UALR diploma. Representatives (people that know more than you do) from various departments will be on-hand to guide you through the maze that is graduation and the college afterlife.

Remember those helpful change checks magically deposited to your account each semester?  Well, most of it wasn’t free money, but the wonderful staff from financial aid will be there to wipe your tears and tell you where to send your monthly payment.

That reminds me, don’t forget to order plenty of commencement invites to send to distant relatives with heavy bank accounts.

Make sure to stop by and say hello to the representatives from the Office of Records and Registration because they hold the key to your diploma in their hands.

The Alumni Association will be represented as well if you have any questions from someone who has been there and done that.  Again, smile and greet them nicely because you may be begging them for a job one day in the near future.

Have any other questions about commencement?  Other than what shoes to wear so you don’t trip in front of the crowd, all your questions about graduation can be answered Wednesday and Thursday.  So, seniors – show up.
