The UALR tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Louisiana Tech on Saturday, April 9 at Rebsamen Tennis Center.

Rebecca Van Den Houte was again the lone bright spot for the Trojans as she took her No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-1.

The Trojans were defeated in two out of three doubles matches with Van Den Houte and Veronique Luksich winning their match by default, after Tech had secured victories in the other two matches.

The team didn’t have time to dwell on the loss as they took on Oklahoma Christian on Sunday, April 10 at Rebsamen Tennis Center.

The team ended up losing the match 5-2, extending their losing streak to seven matches.

Rebecca Van Den Houte and Veronique Luksich teamed up in doubles, winning their match 8-4

The team earned their two points in singles as Viktoriya Plyuta won her match 6-4, 7-5 and Andrea Steen-Rosten won her match 2-1 after her opponent was forced to retire.

The Trojans will be back in action for their final regular season match against ASU on Tuesday, April 12, at Rebsamen Tennis Center. Matches are to begin at 2 p.m.
