Taggert Lockhart, a 6 foot  5 inch freshman from Talihina, Okla., knew from his first visit that UALR was the right fit for him. Taggert said he feels, freshman or not, he has something to contribute and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make the team successful.

“I have to work on my defense a little, but I’m an excellent shooter and I like to shoot from deep,” Lockhart said.  Having a father who’s a basketball coach, he grew up understanding the importance of  being open to new aspects of the game. As such, he brings a well-developed sense of the game with him to campus. “My dream is to play division one basketball, it’s all I have trained for,” he said.   He’s said he’s focused and ready to learn whatever it takes to get better. “I promise I’m mature enough to keep my focus,” he said.
