Comedian and political commentator Bill Maher is set to perform at Little Rock’s Robinson Center Music hall for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 14.  The event, presented by Exceptional Artists, will begin at 8 p.m.

Maher is currently the host of the HBO show, Real Time.  Prior to his role at Real Time, he hosted the talk show, Politically Correct, which was shown on Comedy Central and ABC for nearly a decade. Maher has been nominated for 26 Emmy awards.

The New York City native combines politics and humor as means of addressing some of the country’s most pressing issues to the forefront. Maher tackles, and sometimes pokes fun at, taboo subjects such as race and religion. He’s has been a comedian since the launch of his career in 1979 and continues to do regular stand-ups in Las Vegas to this day.

In a review of Maher’s performance on New Year’s Eve at the Hawaii Theatre, Sjarif Goldstein of the Honolulu Pulse wrote, “Watch his show and you’ll see him go toe-to-toe with any politician or pundit who will show up.”
