Dr. Erik D. Malmberg currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. He came to the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law from Texas State University where he served as the Leadership Institute Coordinator in the Dean of Students Office. His responsibilities include organizing First Week, academic advising, academic support/excellence programs, bar preparation services, student organizations, and student health and wellness.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration (Dissertation Title: “Factors Affecting the Success of First Generation Hispanic Law Students”) from The University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. He is currently working on a Masters of Science in Information Science at The University of Texas at Austin.
During his career, he served in numerous and diverse positions of responsibility and leadership with non-profit and state universities including the American Red Cross, The University of Texas at Austin, and Texas State University. In addition to his administrative duties at Bowen, he holds adjunct faculty appointments with the Department of Educational Administration at The University of Texas at Austin and the School of Management at Texas Women’s University.
