About the Library

The UALR William H. Bowen School of Law Library is also the Pulaski County Law Library. It is funded by the Law School and by a portion of the Administration of Justice funds dedicated to county law libraries. This enriches its collection by providing a wide variety of practitioner-oriented materials.

The Law Library is the major law library in central Arkansas. The Law Library is committed to providing resources and services valued by users. It serves a wide variety of patrons and provides access to the following:

  • 2,800+ audio/video discs and tapes
  • 43,000+ book titles
  • 25+ online databases and indexes
  • 35,000+ electronic journal and book titles
  • federal depository material
  • Arkansas depository material

Library Reading Room

The online resources are accessible through the library’s online catalog. They are available to everyone in the Law School building and to Law School faculty and students from off campus.

The Law Library occupies 52,000 square feet of space located on four floors of the Law School building. It contains seating for 365 people, nine group study rooms, 42 two-person closed carrels, and two computer labs.

The Director of the Law Library teaches legal research to all first-year law students in a two-semester course. Seven other professional librarians manage library departments and provide reference service. The Law Library also has three other professionals, three IT professionals, and five paraprofessionals.

The Law Library is an active participant in several regional and national consortia that facilitate interlibrary loan, cooperative purchasing and other joint endeavors.
