Master of Education in Learning Systems Technology

First Steps

If you want to be a part of this program and earn your M.Ed. degree, your first step is to use your browser and open the UALR graduate school web site and read carefully the instructions for before you apply.  At the end of these instructions you will be asked to fill out a form which will trigger your application to graduate school.

After you have completed your online application to the Graduate School, your folder with all of your transcripts will be sent to the program coordinator for evaluation. The program coordinator will then send you a letter with your status in the process.

Once you get your letter of acceptance you will be able to start the program in any semester: Fall, Spring, or Summer.

The sequence of courses you should follow can be found the these pages (see the curriculum form which must be completed after twelve completed hours), but you may schedule a meeting with the program coordinator either online, on the phone, or in person (501-569-3267, Dickinson Hall, Room 419).

The culminating experience in the program is a portfolio presentation or the comprehensive exam. As you take courses within in the program you will collect production items for the portfolio or amass the information for the comprehensive exam. (See the detailed information about the portfolio within these pages.)

Almost everyone in this program holds full time jobs and the normal course load is six hours a semester during Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Therefore, you can expect to complete about six of the twelve courses required during a single calendar year. Some people take more courses and complete the program in less than two years, but the normal completion time is two years.

We look forward to seeing you succeed in this program.
