The Purpose of The Grant Assistance Program is to assist Scientists and Engineers at UALR in obtaining external grants through the utilization of the Facilities and Instrumentation of the Center for Integrative Nanotechnology Sciences at UALR. We firmly believe that the implementation of such program will enhance the ability of Arkansas scientists and engineers to obtain competitive grants and as a result will bolster the state’s competitiveness in science and technology. This program is congruent with the mission of CINS, which is to advance the science of Nanotechnology through research and education and accelerate technological innovations into practical applications for society.
Application and acceptance procedures
Please fill out the Grant Application Assistance Form located below. An internal committee consisting of the Deans of EIT and CSAM or their designees and the scientific staff at CINS, whose current members will be posted on our website, will review and consider your application. Applicants may be asked to give a presentation and answer questions in front of this committee and/or the CINS staff.
What we do for you
CINS will provide the use of any of our facilities for the duration of time approved by the internal committee, set up by CINS. We will also provide any other services and assistance approved by the committee to the extent possible. If you determine that additional services are needed, you must re-submit a new proposal to the committee.
What we cannot do for you
In general, users are responsible for any consumables unless specified in the approved proposal. We will not purchase any equipment necessary for the project unless specified in the proposal and approved by the committee. Even after the approval by the committee, there may be some issues which we may not be able to provide due to technical issues and unforeseeable circumstances.
Rules and Guidelines
Any users utilizing the facilities under this assistance program must obey all the rules specified in the Rules and Guidelines of CINS. In addition, users must be familiar with and abide by the rules in the UALR Radiation Safety Manual, Chemical Safety Manual, and Biological Safety Manual, as well as any other campus safety rules pertinent to the proposal. Furthermore applicants are required to annually report research activities, including publications, presentations, grant applications and awards etc. as stated in the the Rules and Guidelines of CINS.
