Faculty-led Programs

Various colleges and departments offer short-term faculty-led programs each year.  These programs include month-long summer language programs, short-term winter term or spring break programs, and other combinations.

Costa Rica (Spring Break March 2012): PROGRAM FULL
Course Offered - Field Study in International Business: Students will study the nature and importance of culture and cross-cultural differences in the context of conducting business activities. Topics include international political, economic, and social issues in context of US - Costa Rica Relations. Summer 2012

Yucatan, Mexico (May 29-June 9, 2012): PROGRAM FULL
Course offered - Ancient Maya Art and Architecture: In this 12 day program, we will study ancient Maya art, architecture, culture and Colonial art and architecture. We will visit ancient Maya and cultural sites of Chichen Itza, Dzibilchaltun, Uxmal, Labna, Sayil, Kabah, Ek Balam, Chacmultun, and Loltun cave. We will also be in the Colonial city of Izamal and Merida where we will visit the Museo Regional de Antropologia, the Plaza Grande, the Cathedral de San Ildefonso, and the Palacio Municipal. England and Wales (May 25th - June 06th, 2012): PROGRAM FULL
Course offered - Wordsworth’s England: This course will visit specific locations featured in William Wordsworth’s poetry to enhance the students’ understanding of Wordsworth’s poetry and its context. Paris, France (May 21st - May 28th, 2012): PROGRAM FULL
Course offered - Researched Lived Experiences: The class introduces a research approach called phenomenology. For one week, students experience the life and culture of Paris, France, and use this experience to reflect about interpersonal and intrapersonal communication.
