Apply to the MA Program in Professional and Technical Writing

The PTW Graduate Committee reads and votes on admission applications 3 times each semester and once in the summer.

To be admitted in time for Spring 2015 registration, submit your materials by

Sept 19 (admission decision will be made Oct. 3)
Oct. 24 (admission decision will be made Nov. 7)
Nov. 21 (admission decision will be made Dec. 5) — last chance to be admitted for Spring 2015 and start classes in January

To be admitted in time for Summer or Fall 2015 registration, submit your materials by

Feb. 20 (admission decision will be made Mar. 6)
Mar. 20 (admission decision will be made Apr. 3)
Apr. 17 (admission decision will be made May 1) — last chance to be admitted for Summer 2015 and start classes in late May or early July
July 13 (admission decision will be made July 27) — last chance to be admitted for Fall 2015 and start classes in August

If you miss the deadline to be fully admitted to the program — or if you want to try a course or two before deciding to apply — you may be able to take courses with us as a non-degree-seeking student. Credits completed as a non-degree-seeking graduate student can be applied to your MA degree requirements once you are accepted to the program.

Note about financial assistance through GA positions: We usually award graduate assistantships during the late spring of each year, and most assistantships run from August to May.  If you are applying for spring admission, you likely will not be eligible for an assistantship until after your first semester.
