Sequoyah Research Center

Research Collections

The Sequoyah National Research Center serves a repository for the most comprehensive collection of Native newspapers, periodicals, and other publications in the world. Additionally the SNRC is home to numerous Native manuscript and special collections and has acquired other materials related to Native communities, press history, and literature.

Providing access to these research materials is one of the primary goals of the SNRC. Following the research links to the left will lead researchers to databases and full text collections that are a vital part of the SNRC’s effort to document all aspects of life among American Indians, Alaska Natives, and First Nations of Canada.

This site will remain a work-in-progress as we add materials to our collections and process them.

Below are the links to our catalogs. The archives catalog contains finding aids to our manuscripts and special collections as well as the records for our art collections. The library catalog contains everything else: books, periodicals, and the indexing of Indian Removal records. Below the catalog links are short tutorials for each catalog. Both of these catalogs will always be works in progress as we continue to expand our collections and enhance the details available for searching.
