UALR Dance Program

Exploration...diversity...innovation...and celebration...the opportunity to experience everything dance is and everything you can accomplish to become part of it: that’s what we’re about! Come dance with us and participate in the state’s premiere Fine Arts program in Dance Performance. Through a range of learning and performance experiences, our students benefit from what it means to dance and choreograph within a broad cultural framework. The professional faculty brings an extensive performance history to their teaching, as well as a knowledge of the traditions and evolution of the art form, and specialized skills in dance technology and videography. Their work is augmented by visiting guest artists whose residencies extend from master classes to commissioned works set on our own performers. Moreover, dance and theatre live together in our department in a fully integrated approach, which fosters crossover opportunities to experience and participate in both disciplines.
