The Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at UA Little Rock offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance. The B.F.A. degree in dance is a professional degree offering students an education in dance technique, choreography, and dance theory.
All students interested in dance at UA Little Rock must audition for placement in technique classes. Students interested in being considered for departmental scholarships must also submit scholarship application materials and take part in a scholarship interview. NOTE: The audition and scholarship application materials are required for new AND returning students interested in scholarships.
Auditions are an excellent opportunity to take classes with our faculty, learn about the B.F.A. degree in Dance Performance, receive a level placement for Fall technique classes, and be considered for a dance scholarship. You do not need to prepare a piece for this audition. You will be observed in the technique class setting. Prospective students are encouraged to tour the UA Little Rock campus either before or during their audition day, if possible.
ON-CAMPUS AUDITIONS: All dance classes for the audition are held at Studio 129 in the Center for Performing Arts (which also houses the University Theatre, on the South end of campus.) Directions>>
*Campus tours are available: (Tour registration: http://ualr.edu/admissions/visit/)
Dancers must attend AUDITIONS for placement in technique classes, and/or to be considered for a departmental scholarship. Students for whom geographical location hinders participation in either audition day should contact Stephanie Thibeault.

To register for PLACEMENT-ONLY auditions, simply complete the dance scholarship application, and write “PLACEMENT ONLY” at the top of the Special Talents box, then submit the application without uploading the additional scholarship application materials.
