Telly Awards

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 5, 2010) – Two television programs produced by UALR’s University Television, Comcast 62 and U-Verse 99, won three bronze statues at the Telly Awards honoring outstanding local, regional, cable TV, and web programs and commercials.

The program “Inside Art – Delita Martin Printmaker” received two bronze statues in the categories of Educational and Cultural Programs.

Produced by UTV’s Director Cheryl Hellmann and UALR Gallery Director Brad Cushman, “Inside Art” is a regular program on the channel that explores the inspirational and technical process of creating art by talking with artists from a variety of disciplines. Brent Neumeier is the program’s videographer.

“Gotta Dance!” produced by Hellmann with videographer Neumeier, also won a bronze statue in the Culture Program category. The program showcased the bachelor of fine arts dance program at UALR with interviews with students and faculty about the experience interspersed with video of performances.

Last year, more than 11,000 entries competed for silver and bronze Tellys. Entries are judged against a high standard of merit as opposed to competing against each other.
