Sustainability Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Donaghey Student Center upper concourse at UALR.
In addition to informational booths and programs sponsored by campus and community organizations, this event is an opportunity for electronics recycling, including batteries, CDs, and other items of similar size.
At 1 p.m., members of the campus family are invited to bring their own compost and walk to the Campus Garden, near the public parking deck facing Fair Park Boulevard. A tour of the garden follows.
The event is sponsored by the UALR Sustainability Committee, which seeks to inform, educate, and encourage students, faculty, and staff to conserve resources and protect the environment.
The Sustainability Committee will also provide water bottles to those interested in signing up for the “Take Back the Tap” program.
