Win a Scholarship

Plan on attending UA Little Rock in 2022? During Discover, you can participate in scholarship contests! There are two contests: The Welcome Session Competition and the Social Media Scholarship Contest. Check out all the details in the next section. Good luck!

Welcome Session Competition

During the Welcome session at 10:30 a.m., recruitment staff will find students in the crowd to participate in a competition on the basketball court. At the end of the game, two winners will be awarded with a $500 scholarship!

Social Media Contest

The contest begins on Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Five $250 scholarships will go to the winners in our social media contest. Winners will be chosen in these categories:

  • Best Overall—the post we love the most
  • Most Creative—think outside the box and create a vibe
  • Best Trojan Spirit—the biggest UA Little Rock school spirit will be rewarded
  • Campus Explorer—take us on an adventure through campus
  • Most Popular—get the most likes, shares, and comments

Here’s how to enter the social media contest:

  1. Follow us on one of the social media platforms shown below.
  2. When you post on your preferred platform, tag us and include #UALittleRock.
  3. Each post will be considered an entry, and there are no limits on the amount you post.

Event Safety Guidelines

Your safety is a priority to UA Little Rock. Please review the guidelines below, so you can safely enjoy the event.

Staying Safe – Mandatory for All On-Campus Guests:
Masks that meet campus guidelines are required during the event in all indoor settings with limited exceptions (e.g. when eating). Face coverings will be required in outdoor settings where social distancing cannot be maintained, also with limited exceptions.

Masks Not Mandatory When Eating:
You may remove your mask when you sit down to eat, and we ask that you sit with your group. When you leave your table, you may be required to wear your mask. Tables will be sanitized between guests.

Do Not Attend If You or Your Guests Have:
Fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell, or known exposure to someone with Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

Consider Not Attending If You or Your Guests:
Have underlying health conditions including high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, severe obesity, asthma, or weakened immunity, or are over 65 years of age.

Academic Colleges UA Little Rock has three academic colleges, which house different academic majors. You can find them at the morning Expo and the afternoon activity tents! Plus, they are the main event during the Academic Sessions.

Dept. of Applied Communication & Communication Skills Center The Department of Applied Communication’s mission is “fostering the co-creation of better social worlds through positive communication.” Stop by for a Positive Communication Challenge!
Dept. of Physics and Astronomy Ask this department about their huge number of external grant funding for their state-of-the-art laboratories, research programs, and computer facilities. They also have undergraduate research opportunities!
Disability Resource Center The DRC makes education accessible to everyone! Learn how they help students get the accommodations they need to succeed in the classroom and live comfortable in their campus apartments.
Donaghey Scholars Program This honors scholarship program is open to all majors and has the most generous financial package, including funding for housing and study abroad.
Donaghey Student Center & Campus Recreation There is so much offered in the Donaghey Student Center! Stay active with Campus Recreation, the Fitness and Aquatic Center (hello, Olympic-sized pool), and other exciting activities.

Emerging Analytics Center The EAC is a research center for data visualization and virtual reality. The EAC Cyber Arena provides massively scalable cloud-based workouts to train cybersecurity defense skills.
Forum The UA Little Rock Forum is the University’s student-ran newspaper.

International Student Services Learn how to write name in foreign languages! The Office of International Student Services is available to help international students with the onboarding process.
League of United Latin American Citizens LULAC is the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States. LULAC advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of Hispanic Americans. The organization involves and serves all Hispanic nationality groups and membership is open to students from all backgrounds.
Meet the Greeks Joining a fraternity or sorority is a great way to make friends who share the same values as you, develop leadership skills and connections that are great for job-hunting, and have fun while you do it!
Military Student Success The Center serves as a place where military students can socialize, study, and get information about available resources.

School of Business The School of Business is strategically located in the city of Little Rock, the state capital of Arkansas. They emphasize the importance of corporate strategic partnerships with major corporations located in Arkansas, as well as entrepreneurial ventures and governmental agencies.
School of Criminal Justice The School of Criminal Justice and Criminology (SCJC) at UA Little Rock is Arkansas’s flagship program in its discipline. Across all degree programs, the School provides students with the intellectual and practical skills that they need to become successful and socially responsible professionals.
