Undergraduate Advising
We have a three-step process for helping our Applied Communication students move through the program towards graduation. If you’re unsure about which appointment you need, please call 501-916-3158 or email Dr. April Chatham-Carpenter, or make an appointment with her at this link.
Onboarding Advising
This advising appointment is for newly declared Applied Communication majors (if you have 45+ hours) or for majors that do not have an ACOM degree plan (check the “plans” tab in DegreeWorks). Choose the option that fits you best:
- Students with 90+ hours and 15+ hours of your ACOM degree completed: schedule an appointment with Dr. April Chatham-Carpenter.
- Student athletes: schedule an appointment with Dr. April Chatham-Carpenter.
- On-campus students (this means you can take both face-to-face and online classes) OR online-only students (this means you can only register for 9U online sections): schedule an appointment with Katie Halford.
Peer Advising
This advising appointment is for students who already have an ACOM degree plan and have less than 90 hours.
The Communication Skills Center Assistant Directors will meet with students to help make sure they’re on track towards graduation. Schedule an appointment for peer advising.
Graduation Check Advising
Graduation is now right around the corner! You’re ready for this advising appointment if you already have an ACOM degree plan and have more than 90 hours. Schedule an appointment with Dr. April Chatham-Carpenter to make sure everything’s in order so you can walk across the stage at graduation!
Graduate Student Advising
If you’re an Applied Communication graduate student, call 501-916-3158 or email Dr. Bailey Blackburn to set up an appointment.
