Individuals
We offer live online professional development courses led by UA Little Rock faculty and experienced local professionals. The schedule of these offerings vary by course and semester. To find a course, click here.
We also partner with ed2go to provide flexible self-paced online courses. These courses are developed by professionals in their field and give you the flexibility to learn skills and earn certifications at your own pace. For a complete list of our ed2go offerings, click here.
Certifications are awarded by national industry associations and education providers to certify that an individual has demonstrated the knowledge and skills related to a particular industry or body of work. Certifications are typically known by their acronym. For example a PMP is a Project Management Professional who has been certified by Project Management International.
Certificates document participation in a course. Certificates may be awarded for courses as short as one hour, up to many weeks or months. They demonstrate participation in an educational program, which may or may not include validation of knowledge and skills learned.
If you would like a copy of your certificate, please email us at [email protected] or call us at 501-916-6696.
Our courses are offered as professional skills courses by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE). This means they align with workforce needs, but the university does not award college credit for completion.
However, college credit could be awarded through a process called credit for prior learning. This allows degree programs to offer you credits for previous training and work experience. When you apply for a degree program, ask your admissions counselor about their policy and process for awarding credit for prior learning or prior learning assessment.
In some cases, departments at UA Little Rock have pre-approved specific professional skills courses for credit for prior learning. For example, Leadership Academy courses are pre-approved for credit in the School of Business MBA program.

No, federal student loans and grants cannot be used for the courses we provide. Our offerings are professional skills courses that do not award college credit, therefore federal student funding is not able to be applied to our courses. As a result, we do not use or review FAFSA for courses offered through our department.
To see all options available to assist in paying for offerings, see our funding page.
There are several scholarships available to help pay for offerings. The Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship (AWCS), the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), and Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) offer scholarship opportunities.

Our courses are for individuals 18 years and older. If an offering allows participants under 18, it will be clearly stated in the course information.
Typically, our courses do not require high school diplomas or GEDs. If a course does require it, it will be stated clearly in the course information.
However, most industry certifications do require a high school diploma or GED. Please review certification requirements before enrolling in a certification prep course.
All course changes, including enrollments, drops, and withdrawals must be requested through the Modern Campus Student Portal. If you have any questions concerning your refund, please send an email to [email protected].
Refunds are based solely on the date of submission of the official drop request, which must be completed in Modern Campus. Once registered, if you decide not to attend a course, you must drop the course before the course start date in order to receive a full refund.
Courses purchased directly through ed2go have a separate refund policy that may allow you to drop and refund the course up to 10 calendar days from the start date. Contact your ed2go Student Advisor to submit a request.
