Dr. Lacey Roughton is a Research Associate Professor in the Justice Research and Policy Center in the College of Business, Health, and Human Services. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Missouri Southern State University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Dr. Roughton’s research interests include police and correctional officer misconduct and accountability, as well as misuse of positions of authority or trust. She specializes in research specific to law enforcement and program evaluation and has been a part of a variety of primary data collection efforts. She is involved in a number of contracts and grants with community partners and agencies, exploring police agency and leadership efficacy, disproportionate minority contact among juveniles in the criminal justice system in Arkansas, and community crime and safety. Dr Roughton is also examining law enforcement officer health and wellness, secondary trauma, and law enforcement family wellness in Arkansas. She enjoys collaborating with state and local agencies to evaluate programs and streamline processes, as well as providing technical reports and presentations for community partners.
