Lab Practices

All facilities in the United States that perform laboratory testing on human specimens are regulated CLIA Waived Lab Tests logounder the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA). Health Services is CLIA certified for waived tests and Provider Performed Microscopy Procedures. Proper documentation and record keeping is an important element of good laboratory practices. The practice in Health Services is that all labs must be logged in and checked off when the results arrive. Health Services was 100% compliant in this area – all labs and their associated results were logged and the provider had initialed as reviewed.
