HIPAA Risk Assessment

A HIPAA risk assessment was conducted to determine administrative, physical, and technical safeguard compliance within Health Services. All items posing a high threat were addressed immediately. As part of the risk assessment, Charlotte Beck, HIPPA Compliance Officer, came up with a HIPAA “mascot” for Health Services. “HILDE-GUARD, the HIPAA Compliance Troll” makes surprise appearances and leaves notes when she finds areas that need improvement. Staff awareness of HIPAA has been heightened by HILDE-GUARD’s visits and reminders.
