Don O’ Donnell new Staff Senate President

Congratulations to Don O’Donnell, a valuable member of the IT Services team, for being elected as the next Staff Senate President. Don has been a member of the Staff Senate since 2023. As an active member, he has served as chair of the Blood Drive and Helping Hands Committees, and is currently chairperson for the Staff Awards Committee. “I’ve always stepped forward to take on leadership when needed,” Don said. “I’m excited to continue the successful programs the Staff Senate has developed and to represent the interests of our university staff. I also want to foster more volunteerism and strengthen collaboration with the Faculty Senate and the Chancellor’s office.”

Don joined UA Little Rock in December 2015 as a Project Manager for the university. He has over 50 years of experience in information technology and a passion for service to the role. A certified Project Management Professional since 2002, he also mentors aspiring project managers and serves on the Board of Directors for the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Don further expressed: “The Staff Senate is an opportunity to give back beyond the 8-to-5 workday. I believe my management and leadership skills can make a difference in advocating for the staff and enhancing our campus community.”
