Public Service Merit Scholarship

Reinforcing our core values of professionalism, public service, and access to justice, the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law establishes the Public Service Merit Scholarship. The Public Service Scholarship recognizes the contributions to society that students make prior to law school and encourages students to continue their public service activities after law school.

Administration

The Public Service Scholarship will be a 25% tuition scholarship offered to all accepted students who worked for Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Teach for America, or City Year for at least one year by the time of orientation. Scholarships will not be stacked on top of other scholarships – e.g. If a student qualifies for a larger Merit Scholarship, the Merit Scholarship will supplant the Public Service Merit Scholarship. The Public Service Scholarship will apply to tuition charges for a maximum of 90 credit-hours (the graduation requirement) taken during the fall and spring semesters. Scholarships can not be applied during the summer or intersession terms. Scholarships will renew each year provided that the recipient remain in the top 60% of their class at the end of each spring semester.
