How to Support the Rural Practice Incubator
We are working with vendors to assist these new attorneys as much as possible, from legal research access to CLE scholarship and discounts. However, there are many ways attorneys and legal professionals can support the incubator program and its participants. Some are less formal and almost instantaneous. For example, you can greet a new attorney and make them feel welcome in the local legal community, or you can refer clients to the incubator attorney in your area. If you want to get more involved, here are a few ways.
Mentor an incubator attorney
Mentoring is an easy way to be involved. You’ll be sharing your experience by:
- serving as a point of contact and a guide through your local legal community;
- sharing your expertise and institutional knowledge; and
- helping a new attorney navigate through the first crucial months of starting a practice.
To volunteer as a mentor, or if you have any questions, please contact the Incubator director, Amy Pritchard, either by calling 501-916-5457 or by emailing her.
Share office space
Starting out, every new attorney needs a space to practice. If you have an empty office, please consider offering it for an incubator attorney, either at no charge or at a reduced rental. If you can help in this way, please contact the Incubator director, Amy Pritchard, either by calling 501-916-5457 or by emailing her.
If you are interested in learning how you can financially support Bowen’s core value of Access to Justice through our Incubator Program, please contact Wanda Hoover, Assistant Dean for External Relations, for information on funding priorities. You can reach Dean Hoover either by calling 501-916-5425 (or her cell: 501-690-1159) or by emailing her.
Did we forget something?
Is there a way to help that we’ve forgotten? Something that you wish you’d had access to or known when you were a new attorney? If you’re willing to share your knowledge and expertise, please contact the Incubator director, Amy Pritchard, either by calling 501-916-5457 or by emailing her.
