Launch Your Legal Career at Bowen
Bowen’s part-time, in-person evening J.D. program is designed for working professionals, caregivers, career changers, and others seeking a flexible path to a law degree. With the same rigorous curriculum and faculty as our full-time program, part-time students build legal knowledge and real-world skills — on a schedule that works.
Bowen Law offers the only part-time law program in Arkansas — and one of the few available across the region.
Earn Your J.D. on a Flexible Evening Schedule
Part-time students attend classes Monday through Thursday from approximately 5:45 to 9:25 p.m. The program is structured to be completed in four academic years, including required first-year courses and electives in upper-level years.

Build Legal Experience While You Work
Unlike full-time students, part-time students are not subject to employment restrictions. This allows you to continue working while attending law school, helping reduce debt and maintain income.
Bowen also offers a unique Part-Time Student Practicum, an optional experiential opportunity that connects part-time students with judges, prosecutors, and other legal professionals for hands-on learning and professional growth.
Same Degree, Same Faculty, Full Support
Part-time students are fully integrated into the Bowen community. You’ll have access to student organizations, academic support, externships, and professional development resources — the same opportunities available to full-time students.
You’ll also be matched with a Student Success Team, a small group led by a Bowen Fellow who provides guidance, mentoring, and encouragement from day one. These peer leaders, alongside dedicated faculty advisors, help you navigate law school with confidence and clarity.
“I seem to always be grateful to the dean and this school — not just for the privilege of affordable education, but also for the sense of community and guidance provided outside of coursework.”
Jessica Schoultz — Part-time Student
In the classroom, Bowen’s faculty bring both experience and empathy. They know your name, understand your goals, and are invested in helping you succeed. Whether you’re managing a demanding schedule or returning to school after time away, you’ll find professors and mentors who respect your path and support your progress.
