As with any other Editorial Board member, the Notes and Comments Editor is very important to the success of the UA at Little Rock Law Review. Over the course of a year, the Notes and Comments Editor works closely with Apprentices to guide them in writing scholarly, publishable notes. During this process, the Notes and Comments Editor makes sure that the Apprentices understand the importance of producing quality work for the Law Review.
The Notes and Comments Editor also hosts orientation for the Apprentices, approves note topics, assigns Associate Editors, and reviews and edits Apprentices’ notes. During the course of the year, the Notes and Comments Editor has the opportunity to form relationships with the Apprentices and also continues to develop better writing and editing skills.
After student notes have been chosen for publication, the Notes and Comments Editor must then make sure that the chosen notes flow through the publication process by assigning cite checks and completing two major edits of each note.
