The Research Editor primarily serves three functions: (1) maintaining technical accuracy within all published pieces, including grammar, style, and source checking; (2) facilitating education and training for Apprentices and Members; and (3) serving as a liaison between the Review and the law library.

The Research Editor consults with Members and Apprentices as needed concerning questions regarding compliance with the Bluebook, Style Manual, or Chicago Manual of Style. She evaluates the quality of cite checks and compiles to ensure work complies with Review standards, provides feedback on cite checks and compiles, and keeps a written record of Member and Apprentice work.

The Research Editor acts as a liaison to law library, including facilitating communication between Apprentices and law librarians for additional research support in the development of the Note. In addition, she meets with Apprentices to assist in the research process of Note writing, including broadening resource horizons and evaluating current sources for quality.
